The mission of the Office of Victim Services is to build mutual understanding and open communication among Department of Rehabilitation and Correction employees, victims, their families and community victim advocacy groups. The office facilitates victims' access to the Department by giving them opportunities to participate in decisions concerning an offender's liberty and providing them support and information as needed.

Applications taken by phone or on the website. Eligibility Requirements:
Claim must be filed within two years of the date of the crime, minors have
until their 20th birthday to file. The crime must have reported within 72
hours (unless there is a good reason for delay) and the victim cooperated
with reasonable requests of law enforcement, the victim was not committing
a criminal act that caused or contributed to the injuries, the victim has
no collateral source of payment for the compensation they are seeking. Services
description: Compensation costs within limits for medical expenses, mental
health counseling, lost wages/support, funerals, crime scene cleanup/repair,
& evidence replacement.
