Victim Assistance

Alleviate Sexual Assault Permanently (ASAP) serves any person who is a survivor of sexual assault. ASAP provides court advocacy, counseling, support groups, temporary shelter, education, 24-hour crisis line, information and referral, transportation and community advocacy.

Crisis Intervention

The agency provides a 24-hour crisis line, short-term crisis intervention, support groups, court advocacy, hospital accompaniment for rape victims and information and referral. The agency also offers date rape prevention programs.

Prevention

Offer program for high school students about understanding the dynamics of date rape and dating violence.

Professional Training

Provides training for community law enforcement officials, medical personnel, and social service providers who handle rape and domestic violence situations. Staff and volunteers also present speeches to civic, church and social groups on topics such as rape and rape prevention, child sexual abuse prevention, and domestic violence.

Support Group

Offer victim support groups for the following: sexual assault, domestic violence, women who resort to violence, and children who have witnessed domestic violence. Support groups help victims cope with confusion, anger and fear often experienced after episodes of rape or domestic violence. Groups enable victims to share experiences and feelings and provide them with support to overcome their fears and feelings of isolation.

Assistance

Hospital accompaniment, court advocacy, peer counseling and support group session are available to any survivor of rape or sexual assault. House of Peace advocates are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

Prevention

Rape awareness and prevention programs presented to Junior and Senior High School students. Acquaintance rape, sexual coercion, sexual harassment and teen violence prevention are discussed. (Rape Crisis 800-644-4460)
Speeches to civic, church and social groups are presented on topics such as: rape and rape prevention, child sexual abuse prevention and domestic violence.

Professional Training

In-service training - for medical, legal and law enforcement personnel is available on request.
