Treatment

Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps help children, ages 0-21, with medical handicaps obtain treatment.

Assessments

Regional School Psychologists provide traditional and problem solving assessment, intervention assistance, consultation, and crisis intervention services to individuals birth through age 21, their parents and teachers.

Early Intervention

Early Childhood Itinerant Teachers provide itinerant special education services (home visits and preschool program visits), to preschool children (3-5 years of age) with disabilities, their families, and their community- based preschool teachers.

Family Support Group

Parent Consultants provide: assistance, support, and training to parents / parent groups of students with physical disabilities; coordinate training; coordinate activities; assist with family/organization networking; Coordinate information requested.

Occupational Therapy

Registered Occupational Therapists provide evaluation and program development in the areas of self-care, and / or leisure skills to maximize independence in the education setting.
Certified OT assistants provide: direct OT services to students with motor needs; assist parents / teachers to help students develop hand skills, upper-body strength, and movement needed in the classroom setting.

Physical Therapy

Assists school districts coordinate services to students with physical disabilities. Physical Therapist assist children / students with orthopedic needs to maximize independence in the educational setting.

Speech Therapy

Early Childhood Speech Language Therapists assess preschool children's (3-5 years of age)
communication skills, provide children with speech therapy in home or preschool.

Early Intervention

Early Intervention Assistance through Hopewell SERRC and CCESC's Early Intervention Coordinator. Collaboration between Head Start, private preschool programs and Even Start.

Intervention

Children and Family First representatives and Children Intervention Team collaborate to meet the needs of children and their families with: emotional problems, physical and learning disabilities, mental retardation, and chronic illness.

Job Placement

Contact and collaboration with Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, Clinton Community Counseling Center, job training through transition to work, Summer Youth Employment and Training, Drug and Alcohol Center and Juvenile Courts.

Supervision

Supervision of all county DH/LD/SBH/MH and early childhood programs. Provide supervisors to all special education teachers in Clinton County.

Assistance

Evaluation

Educational and behavioral evaluations for children and teens (age 3-21) who may have a disability.

Training

Specialized training for all identified students with handicapping conditions.

Vocational Training

Vocational Training for ages 16-22. Coordination of education and employment, and transition to work for those with disabilities.
