Habitat for Humanity seeks to build simple, decent homes for individuals in need. Applicants must qualify to purchase a home based on income guidelines and willingness to partner. Contact Family Selection chairperson for an application.

Clinton County Services for the Homeless residents are provided assistance with finding affordable housing.

Donations

Clinton County Services for the Homeless will help residents establish new households, furnishing household supplies, food, furnishings, etc.

Housing

CCSH provides emergency shelter to persons 18 years and older, or children 0-17 years and accompanied by an adult. Residents receive 3 meals/day, clothing, clean bed to sleep on, laundry service, 24-hour staff supervision and support. Capacity for 17.

Assistance

Offer Rental assistance to families that apply for the program, public housing for 2-3 bedroom families. Also offer section-8 to 1 through 4-5 bedroom families. Applicants must apply and be placed on waiting list. The Family Self Sufficiency program offers employment and savings incentive program for low income families that have section 8 vouchers or live in public housing.

Rehabilitation

Council on Aging offers free home repairs and safety modifications for low-income homeowners and renters age 60 and older. Improvements include wheelchair ramps; bathroom grab bars; replacement of dangerous wiring; repair of steps, locks, plumbing; roof and furnace repair. Assistance

Provides home ownership loans to qualified individuals and families who cannot obtain credit from other sources to purchase homes in rural areas. All of Clinton County would be considered rural.
Provides loans and grants for eligible families to modernize or to remove health or safety hazards. The home must be owner occupied and residents must meet financial criteria. Check eligibility at http://eligibility.sc.egov.usda.gov
