Advocate

Advocacy is provided to clients of the agency, to include accompaniment to court, legal appointments, law enforcement and social service agencies.

Education

Educational programs offered about family violence issues, rape and parenting.

Offender's Program

Domestic Violence Education and Prevention Program meets for 12-weeks. Men's groups meet on Mondays 8:15-10:15 a.m. and 6-8 p.m. Women's group meets Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. Call for more information (937) 382-3285 or (800) 339-5066.

Shelter/Support

Provides shelter/safehousing to residents of Clinton County. Will pick-up victim from the hospital or police department, not from private homes.

Protective Services

Adult Protective Services-providing investigation, arrangement and services to adults aged 60 and over that are alleged to be physically or emotionally abused, neglected or exploited. Includes self-neglect.

Crisis Intervention

The agency provides a 24-hour crisis line, seven days a week, to provide crisis intervention to sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking victims, as well as to offer referrals to appropriate community services.

Professional Training

Provides training for community law enforcement officials, medical personnel, and social service providers who handle rape and domestic violence situations. Staff and volunteers also present speeches to civic, church and social groups on topics such as rape and rape prevention, and domestic violence.

Support Group

Offer victim support groups for the following: sexual assault, domestic violence, women who resort to violence, and children who have witnessed domestic violence. Support groups help victims cope with confusion, anger and fear often experienced after episodes of incest, rape or domestic violence. Groups enable victims to share experiences and feelings and provide them with support to overcome their fears and feelings of isolation.

Advocate

Court advocacy, peer counseling and support groups for survivors in a domestic abuse situation. Help is also available for filing a Temporary Restraining Order in Domestic Relations Court and providing accompaniment in court.

Professional Training

In-service training - for medical, legal and law enforcement personnel is available on request.

Shelter/Support

Safe shelter for women and their children when there has been abuse in the family. Provides children at the shelter with: opportunity to play and join-in recreational activities; clothes as needed; and transportation if possible.
